Life in Savannah Cats A5 My Boy tells all

kept a male out of my first litter simply because I could not bare to watch him go. I would put him up for sale, and when someone called I would immediately start finding excuses to keep him. So he is still here with me.

I call him the joker because he looks like the joker from Batman. My son calls him wolf because he looks like a wolf. He doesn’t care what we call him as he ignores all the calls. He is his own kitty and listens to no one.

Sometimes I think cats know how we feel about people or situations and the difference between the cats and us is we don’t say what we think, but the cats do. A family member was coming to visit and asked if she could bring her dog. Hum, my cats are very valuable and I never take risks. No one even see’s my kittens before 5 weeks of age, other than pictures I take, not even my own family members who live here. So I was quite put off when that question came across. All who know me, know I would never allow them to bring pets here. They know better than to even ask. I guess I was a little confused as they had made many trips here in the past and didn’t bring the dog, so why this time? They know I have new kittens and didn’t want to expose them to anything?

I politely said, make sure there are no fleas on your dog. My cats can not be around fleas. Is your dog healthy? Those are common questions that I felt should be asked. Maybe I was out of line. I didn’t think I was. It seems as though it made her angry. I didn’t mean to do that but sometimes I say things that are a little blunt. But I am always to the point.

They opted to not bring their dog, but at the end of the day tried to tell my Mom it was all my fault they couldn’t stay and visit with her longer because of “their dog”. Wonder who they blamed for not bothering to come for year and a half? Oh well I have broad shoulders, I can take it.

However, Joker didn’t think it was so funny. The entire time they were here he would act like a sweet cat and meow and be all nice, and as soon as they walked to the kennel he would climb 5 feet up on the fence, reach out and slap at them. I have never seen him do that before. It was almost like he knew something was not right. He is always very sweet. He is always very playful and loving. But this time he was just down right a stinker with them. I honestly think my cats know what I feel. I think we have a link that no one can see or break. I JUST LOVE THESE CATS!
